It was an honour to welcome Lucia Pescador to Paola Lenti Milano and share a pleasant fall evening with her and our friends, previewing some of her latest works.

The occasion also marked the introduction of ALBUM 900, an editorial project curated by Marta Sironi in collaboration with Palermo Publishing. This volume guides readers through the evolution of Pescador’s art, her unique perspective on the 20th century’s history, art, and culture.

Lucia Pescador’s work is organized by series and associations, drawing from a vast array of literary and visual interests that together form an imaginative encyclopedia – a continuously evolving tapestry. Her work explores themes such as nature and geometry, East and West, drawing and photography, historical avant-gardes, and anonymous 20th-century artists. These elements intertwine with her personal experience, culminating in thematic compositions she generically defines as Atelier dispersi – Dispersed Ateliers – since she began mounting her works on the wall in the 1990s.

In Paola Lenti Milano’s material library, guests – including collectors, designers, photographers, and professionals from various fields, all united in valuing elegance and discretion – had the opportunity to admire some of Pescador’s unique, original compositions on canvas. Rarely exhibited and even more rarely preserved in their entirety, these works offer an intimate look at her artistic journey.

"I believe that scraps and fragments are part of modern culture. Working with the cultural memory of the 20th century – a vital fascination for me – I can’t help but collect fragments, the same ones I find in theater and cinema. Now, on a double page, I gather all the leftover material from my artistic work, the offcuts, and compose them: I paste them like collectible stickers, carefully designing a unique composition for each page." - Lucia Pescador

A first selection of Pescador’s works was exhibited during the last Milano Design Week and remains on display in “Àlfa, the Possible House”, an architectural and design concept that, through a refined layering of aesthetic and cultural codes, reveals Paola Lenti’s personal vision of home and living.

"Lucia and I have known each other for years, collaborating on various projects, and it is a privilege to have and display her works in our space. We share a connection - nature as a source of inspiration, curiosity for the stories objects tell, and a search for combinations and overlays that bring new interpretations." - Paola Lenti

Held on Wednesday, October 23, this event, organized in collaboration with APALAZZOGALLERY (representing Pescador since 2021), reaffirms the flagship store on via Bovio as a meeting place for public, artistic expression, and diverse disciplines – a hub for the exchange between design, art, and architecture.
